India is known for its diverse culture and traditions. For ages unity in diversity has been India's etho and so with our company. As per Equal employment opportunity (EEO) laws make it illegal for employers to discriminate against an employee or potential employee in certain workplaces. Indian constitution encapsulates social safeguard measures for all citizens of India in Article 15 and Article 16. Article 15 mandates prohibition of discrimination on grounds of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Workplace diversity refers to the variety of differences between people in an organization. That sounds simple, but diversity encompasses race, gender, ethnic group, age, personality, cognitive style, tenure, organizational function, education, background and more. Diversity not only involves how people perceive themselves, but how they perceive others. Those perceptions affect their interactions. AbsIT seeks to build a climate that welcomes, celebrates, and promotes
respect for the entire human race. In our commitment to diversity, we
welcome people from all backgrounds and seek to include knowledge and
values from various cultures. The concept and dimensions of diversity are
advanced and incorporated into every aspect of the organization.
Dimensions of diversity include, but are not limited to, the following:
race, ethnicity, religious belief, sexual orientation, sex/gender,
disability, socioeconomic status, cultural orientation, national origin,
and age. Diversity helps us meet and exceed our customers' needs and
remain competitive in the marketplace. Most importantly, we realize that
diversity is vital to our success and necessary in enhancing three
critical business imperatives:
A diverse collection of skills and experiences (e.g. languages,
cultural understanding) allows a company to provide service to customers
on a global basis. A diverse workforce that feels comfortable communicating varying points of view provides a larger pool of ideas and experiences. The organization can draw from that pool to meet business strategy needs and the needs of customers more effectively. Father of nation “Mohandas K. Gandhi” has once rightly quoted, "I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stifled. I want all the cultures of all lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any." |
